The first day we will do the same
attractive activities that are planned for the One Day Arenal Volcano by Night &
Hot Springs tour. We will spend the night in the Comfortable chosen hotel (Arenal
Paraíso, Arenal Country Inn, San Bosco, Montaña de Fuego, or Tabacón Lodge that
charges an additional fee). The second day after breakfast, we will take a
pleasing ride from La Fortuna downtown SE 3.4 miles (1½ hour aprox.) to the
place where the horses rest. After a brief walk through the imposing mountain,
we will discover the beautiful La Fortuna Waterfall, which is aprox. 26 feet
high. At the base of the waterfall there is also a relaxing natural swimming
pool, where we will get a very refreshing bath for an hour. Later, we will
return to Tabacón Resort to have an excellent dinner before going back to San
José.

The first day we will have the
same activities that are scheduled for the One Day Arenal Volcano by Night & Hot
Springs tour. We will spend the night in a comfortable hotel (Arenal Paraíso,
Arenal Country Inn, San Bosco, Montaña de Fuego, or Tabacón Lodge that charges
an additional fee). The second day after a good breakfast, we will begin the
arduous mountain bike ride at the Arenal Dam (the operator is Aventuras Arenal).
This tour will be perfect for those who enjoy to ride to the forest, volcano and
the Arenal Lake areas. You will have incredible views and you may see many kinds
of birds, monkeys and pizotes. We will take an old road that will lead us
through the irregular forest. At the end of the way, we will find the entrance
to the Arenal Volcano National Park. Then, we will go towards the Arenal
Observatory (without entering), turning to the main road to return to Tabacón
Resort.

A comfortable a/c microbus will
pick you up at your hotel and take to La Fortuna, a small town next to the
spectacular Arenal Volcano. Just after your arrival to the Hotel you will be
picked up and take to the west side of the Volcano which is one of the best
places for the nighttimes views.
After that they will take you to
one of the hot springs in the area, naturally heated by the volcano veins !

Park there has been 11 different habitats identified which makes it one of the
most biologically diverse wildlife area of this country.
The most important natural
resource of this park is the water that is found in the canals and lagoons of
the tropical rainforest which is very humid.
The great bio-diversity of this
park makes it possible to observe very different species such as jaguars, sloths,
tapirus, tepezcuintles, monkeys (white face, howler). There are also reptiles
such as caimans, crocodiles, frogs and turtles (green, caray, baula and
caballera)

Description of tour:
We will pick you up at your hotel at 8.30 a.m. and depart towards the port of
Moín. We leave the port at about 10.00 a.m. with a comfortable boat passing down
the main canal of 80 kms until the town of Tortuguero. In this guided trip we
will be able to see the change of the vegetation and animals which live in this
aerea. The trip itself lasts more or less 4 hours with a stop at the beginning
to allow you to buy drinks for the trip and another 2 hours later in Parismina
where a little restaurant is situated. We will reach Tortuguero at 2.00 p.m.
aprox. The guide will take you to the hotel and during the afternoon you will
have the possibility to visit the town and the museum of natural history of
C.C.C. which is going to introduce you to the turtle nesting. At night, only
from June to October, it is possible to take a guided tour to the beach to
observe the turtles nesting.
The morning after at 6.00 a.m.,
we will make another tour by boat going down a secondary canal of the park where
you will be able to see various animals such as crocodiles, caimans and river
turtles and much more. Once at the hotel again they will give you breakfast, you
rest for around one hour and later you will return by boat to Moín.

Two days of mountain biking at
the foot of Arenal Volcano
Day 1

On Day 1 of our two-day tour, we
bike around the base of Arenal Volcano and its neighbor, Lake Arenal, ending the
day at the Tabacon Resort where we?ll soak away tired muscles in the crystal
clear, hot waters pouring forth from nearby Arenal Volcano. We?ll spend the
night at the Arenal Observatory, a hotel originally built as a base for visiting
scientists studying the volcano after its catastrophic eruption in 1968. Since
then, the volcano has been continuously erupting with frequent nightly showers
of red hot rocks and glowing lava.
Day 2
Today we'll bike down a paved
road leading to the base of Arenal Volcano, passing through a tropical
rainforest that opens onto beautiful Alpine lakes. After a leisurely picnic
lunch, we return to San José in the late afternoon.
Note: Backup vehicle is provided
at all times during this trip. Day 1 is 10 miles and is rated easy; Day 2 is 9
miles and is rated easy to moderate.
